What to Expect Before Your Solar Installation Day

Going solar isn’t just about the panels – it’s about getting it right, from the very beginning.

We take a consultative, education-first approach to every solar & battery installation. That means before anyone’s on your roof, we’ve already done our homework to make sure your system is designed specifically for your home, your lifestyle, and your goals – not just the cheapest quote.

Here’s what you can expect in the lead-up to installation day.

1. Tailored System Design

Every home is different. That’s why we start with a proper assessment – one that looks at your usage, layout, future plans, and what you want your system to achieve. We’ll talk through:

Your current energy bills and usage patterns
Any upcoming changes (like an EV, heat-pump, or future renovations)
Whether energy independence or blackout protection is a priority
The rebates you’re eligible for – and how to make the most of them

We’re not here to pressure or push. We’re here to explain things clearly, answer your questions honestly, and help you feel confident in your decision.

2. Site Inspection by a Qualified Installer

Once your preliminary system design is laid out, we will look to send a qualified RESINC installer to physically assess your home. This visit ensures everything is safe, compliant, and install-ready. We check:

Roof orientation, pitch, shading, and panel layout
Meterbox condition and service fuses
Space for the inverter and battery (if applicable)
Any upgrades required to meet electrical standards and local regulations

If something needs adjusting, we’ll communicate this clearly with you.

3. Approvals & Paperwork – We’ve Got It Covered

We handle all the behind-the-scenes admin, including:

Application and approval with your local network operator
Integration with your energy retailer
Submission of your rebate paperwork (both solar and battery, where applicable)

There are a few things you’ll need to sign or provide along the way, but we do all the heavy lifting – so you don’t have to stress about the fine print.

4. Installation Day Walkthrough

Install day is an exciting one – and we’ll make sure you’re looped in on what’s happening. Before we wrap up the job, we’ll:

Walk you through the system basics
Connect you to your solar and battery monitoring app
If you’ve got a battery, run a blackout simulation to show how your essential circuits will continue running when the power goes out

Don’t worry if it’s a lot to take in, we’re aware of this, and that’s why we have a Momentum Session later – to cover everything in more detail and make sure you’re completely across how to monitor and benefit from your shiny new RESINC system!

5. Next Stop: Momentum Session + Long-Term Support

Your installation might be complete, but your journey with RESINC is just getting started. Soon after install, we’ll book in your Momentum Session – a one-on-one Zoom session to help you get the most from your system.

And after that? You’ve got ongoing access to the Proactive Customer Service Team, weekly remote system monitoring, help with energy plans, system downtime cover, and much more.
